For every story, Scoop provides a `Related Links' box in the sidebar which collects all of the links in the story plus a few internal links to more similar stories based on the author and topic of the story. This is done automatically by scanning the story's HTML for links.
There is also an `autorelated' feature, where certain keywords cause links to appear in the Related Links box, even if the story author didn't link them to anything. This does not affect the display of the story itself and does not insert any links into the story; it only adds links to the Related Links box. Words and phrases which trigger the `autorelated' feature and their links are defined in the Site Control autorelated. By default only a few are defined, as an example of the format. When creating your own autorelated entries, try to keep the words specific and the phrases short, to decrease the chance of them appearing inappropriately and increase the chance of them being used, respectively.
For example, the default autorelated list includes Scoop, http://scoop.kuro5hin.org/. Any mention of the name of the software will generate a link to Scoop's home page in the related links box. If gutenberg, http://www.gutenberg.org/ were added, any reference to Gutenberg's press, Project Gutenberg, or Gutenberg himself would generate a link to Project Gutenberg's home page. (If there are common misspellings of a word you want to link automatically, they should also be included as keywords.)
